Grocery store finds - Thematic Photography

In today's world of supermarkets I wondered whether the theme this week should really be 'Find a grocery store.'

That would be a hopeless task for me as I am not welcome on shopping trips when my wife is looking to stock up with food.

I did sneak off with my camera today to see what I could find only to be confused by

Shopping trolleys on display
And anyway I didn't have pound to release one for my use.

I ambled round the shop, camera at the ready, and was disappointed to see nearly all the food packaged up. There were only a few vegetables and some fruit where you could chose them separately.

Spring onions
If you can have spring onions when summer is almost over!

Bananas and red peppers

I was pleased to see that the shop supported our farmers by selling only

British meat
and promoted -

Free range eggs
But you can see that these came in cardboard cartons which end up in our recycling bag - not that one is visible today.

Packaging (ready for collection)
I hope that you can recognise that our milk was British too, though don't ask me the price of a pint.

Those aforementioned products from the free range hens reminded me that it's dangerous to put

All your eggs in one basket
So in a bid to obtain my 'fifteen minutes of fame,' I decided to photograph a

A can of soup
But I guess that someone more famous has beaten me to that idea and I might need another 31 cans to complete the picture.

I shall just have to explore other grocery store finds at Carmi's Thematic-photographic-347.

It is an interesting tour of you grocery store. Being old I can remember seeing the grocery business evolve into a very big business. The size of our stores are so large that you have to wander for long distances just to get to the milk and eggs. I am sure you have seen the size of them when you visit Michigan. I remark how you can put about anything in your cart now and the majority of it is not food.

I had to laugh at the great for cooking on the can of soup! I guess they're thinking to add to recipes perhaps and not just as a bowl of soup! I enjoyed seeing your trip to the grocery store, and just adore the meat sign too!

I confess that I don't like to take my husband on shopping trips! Nice to see that you have free range eggs as a choice. I usually have to stop at the Amish market to find those, not at a typical grocery store.

I like your soup perspective better than Warhol's!

Nice to know my supermarket isn't the only one that forces buyers to have coins on them to release the carts. Cheesy indeed!

This week's theme is a little easier logistically: Set everything to monochrome and have at it. Looking forward to seeing what you've got, Bob!
