Liberation - Sunday Stamps

I expected that I would meet this week's theme with ease. It didn't turn out that way and I had to stay with the USA.

Freedom Bell & Statue of Liberty

Continuing the USA connection I also found this image of a stamp in an old UK catalogue.

Bicentennial of American Independence 1976

For more interpretations of liberation please visit Sunday Stamps 69.

I had forgotten the stamps commemorating the War of Independence.

A case of a partial "Snap!". I did think of the more modern Freedom Bell stamp but then went off in other directions - towards the Benjamin Franklin stamp.

My American friend who is American from head to toe flies the Uk Union flag on Independence Day. Very strange, maybe because he's from the deep south and is still fighting the civil war....

I have some some stamps and cards related to the 1976 U.S. Bicentennial, but I didn't think of them this week.

I was in Philadelphia for a conference and I didn't go to Liberty Hall or to see the bell! Thank you for participating.
